Densified stone is a manufactured surface produced using vacuum compaction technology, which combines premium mineral materials into a dense, low-porosity panel. It is crystalline silica-free and formaldehyde-free, and offers a practical stone-look result without the complexity or lead times of prefabricated stone benchtops cut to order.
We sell two densified stone products for kitchens. The DIY stone benchtop is a 2400 x 600 x 20mm panel that customers cut to their required length and cut their own sink and cooktop openings into, in the same way they would work with a laminate benchtop. The splashback is a 2400 x 600 x 6mm panel designed for glue-on wall installation using a suitable construction adhesive. Both products are for indoor use only.
Both are sold separately and available in the same two designs, making it straightforward to use them together for a coordinated kitchen finish.
Why Choose Prefabricated Densified Stone for Your Kitchen?
Densified stone gives Perth homeowners a premium stone-look kitchen benchtop finish without engaging a stonemason or ordering a fabricated package.
Premium stone look, accessible price point. Both designs carry a marble-inspired matte finish that reads as a high-end surface in a finished kitchen. The prefabricated format delivers that result without the lead time and cost of a custom stone package.
DIY-friendly format. The DIY stone benchtop is cut to your required length and accepts sink and cooktop openings cut by the customer, just like a laminate benchtop. Pair it with the matching benchtop and splashback in the same design for a coordinated finish — the splashback panel installs directly onto the wall using a suitable construction adhesive.
Low-maintenance surface. Non-porous construction means the surface requires no sealing. It is scratch and stain-resistant, easy to wipe clean, and rated above Mohs 5 for kitchen countertop grade — making it a reliable everyday work surface.
Moderate heat resistance. Densified stone can tolerate typical kitchen temperatures, but direct contact with hot pots and pans is not recommended. Use trivets or heat pads to prevent thermal shock or surface damage.

Choose a Benchtop, Splashback, or Matching Kitchen Finish
Both products work independently or together — what you choose depends on your project scope.
Choose the benchtop. The 20mm densified stone benchtop is the right choice for buyers replacing or upgrading their kitchen work surface. At 2400 x 600mm, it suits most standard kitchen runs and cuts down to fit. Drop-in sinks are compatible with this product.
Choose the splashback. The 6mm DIY stone splashback panel installs directly onto the wall using construction adhesive, giving a seamless stone-look finish with fewer joins than a tiled splashback. At 600mm high and 2400mm wide, it covers a standard Perth kitchen backsplash area in a single panel.
Choose both. Matching benchtop and splashback in the same design — either Golden Estatuario or Grey Whisper — creates a coordinated stone-look kitchen finish. Both prefabricated panels are sold separately, so you can stage the purchase to suit your renovation timeline.
What to Check Before You Buy
A few things are worth confirming before ordering densified stone in Perth — size, sink compatibility, wall preparation, and heat care.
Measure before you order. Both prefabricated panels are supplied at a fixed 2400 x 600mm size. Measure your bench run and confirm your sink cutout dimensions before ordering. The benchtop is designed to be cut to size by the customer, following the product instructions supplied.
Drop-in sinks only. Densified stone benchtops are suitable for drop-in sinks and are not designed for undermount sink installations. See our range of top mount kitchen sinks if you need to pair a new sink with your benchtop, or our comparison of undermount vs drop-in sinks if you are still deciding which type suits your kitchen.
Splashback wall preparation. The splashback panel installs using suitable construction adhesive onto a clean, flat, structurally sound wall surface. The 600mm panel height is fixed — confirm this suits your backsplash area before ordering.
Use heat protection. Place trivets or heat pads under hot cookware. Do not place hot pots or pans directly on the surface.
