Which Sliding Doors Can You Buy at Ross’s?

Ross’s sells three residential Jason Windows sliding doors online. The configurations are a Single Sliding Door, a Centre Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites and a Double Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites. Each comes in many sizes, frame colours and left- or right-opening options, and an optional aluminium mesh flyscreen can be added.

These Jason sliding doors use the same residential aluminium frame system, but the panel layout and opening arrangement change between models. They suit common Perth renovations and new builds, from replacing a standard external door to filling a wider opening. If you are unsure how to choose sliding doors for your Perth home, start with the panel layout rather than the colour or glass. The arrangement determines the usable opening, the sightline across the glass and how people move through the doorway. Our three online layouts suit different opening widths and access needs.

Across these three sliding door configurations, total frame width tells only part of the story. Compare the clear passage created when the door is open, along with the approach path from both sides. A larger door may provide more glass and a wider view, but the room layout still decides which option will work best.

Single Sliding Door

The Single Sliding Door is the familiar two-panel design, with one sliding panel and one fixed lite. It is a practical choice for standard external openings, patios and smaller alfresco areas. You can select the opening direction to suit the way people approach the opening. Check the product page for the available sizes, colours and current prices.

Centre Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites

The Centre Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites has one operable panel positioned between two fixed lites. The centre panel slides behind either the left or right fixed lite, depending on the direction selected. This creates a balanced sightline across a wider span. It is the newest of the three configurations in our online range.

Double Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites

The Double Sliding Door with Two Fixed Lites uses four panels. The two central panels slide open to the fixed outer panels, creating broader access through the middle. It suits large alfresco openings, entertaining areas and spaces where people or bulky furniture need a wider path. Have your installer compare the usable opening with the structural opening before you order.

Choose the Right Size and Opening Direction

A sliding door size is not simply the visible gap you want to cover. The structural opening, frame dimensions, sill, clear opening, installation tolerances and fitting method all affect what must be ordered. This is why I never recommend choosing from width alone.

The Jason Windows sliding door sizes offered online cover five heights across all three configurations. Width ranges and combination counts change with the panel layout.

These sizes come directly from Ross’s product selectors, checked in September 2026. Not every height is offered with every width, so use the table to shortlist a configuration. The live selector will show whether the exact combination is available.

Opening direction needs the same care. Ross’s defines sliding direction while you are standing outside and facing the door. The selector gives you two choices: “From the Outside – LEFT to RIGHT” and “From the Outside – RIGHT to LEFT”.

Whether you describe the door as opening left or right, match that description to the movement shown in the selector. Do not assume that you and your installer are viewing it from the same side.

Slow down when checking the handing. Two people can describe the same movement differently when one is standing inside and the other is outside. Check the approach path, furniture and fixed panel position from both sides.

Do You Need a Residential or Commercial Frame?

Ross’s three online doors use the residential system. A larger commercial system may be available by special order for openings or architectural requirements outside our online range. It is not automatically a better door. It is intended for a different type of opening or project.

The Jason Windows sliding-door specifications list a 76 × 46 mm head and sill for the residential frame. They also give a maximum residential panel width of 1200 mm and a maximum panel weight of 80 kg. These are frame and panel specifications, not substitutes for the Ross’s order sizes in the previous section.

If our online sizes cover your opening, the residential frame is the right place to start. A special-order system may be required where the opening or individual panels need to be larger.

If no online combination suits, bring your opening dimensions and project details into our showroom. We can check whether a larger or custom system can be ordered before you commit to the surrounding building work.

Choose Glass for Light, Comfort and Safety

Glass choice affects far more than the view through your door. It also influences safety, privacy, solar heat gain, glare, outside noise and the final price. The right sliding door glass options depend on the position of the opening and what you need the room to do.

Jason supplies Grade A toughened safety glass as standard with these doors. The exact thickness and specification still need to suit the selected size and configuration.

These sliding door glass options are not automatically available with every size. Jason lists residential capacity of up to 10 mm for single glazing and 18 mm for a double-glazed unit. These are maximum system capacities, so we still need to confirm what is available for your chosen Ross’s product and dimensions.

For a Perth home, I recommend looking at the opening at the hottest part of the day. A west-facing glass door exposed to strong afternoon sun has different needs from a shaded opening under an alfresco. Toned or Low-E glazing may help manage glare and solar heat gain, while a double-glazed door may suit rooms where thermal or acoustic performance is a higher priority.

Also consider privacy, nearby traffic, bushfire requirements and budget. Glass is only one part of the door’s overall performance. The frame, seals, installation and surrounding building design all contribute, so discuss the complete opening with us and your installer before placing a special order.

Flyscreens, Security Screens and BAL Requirements

No screen, an insect screen and a security screen are three different choices. Each affects how the door performs and what it costs. Decide what you need before ordering, especially if ventilation, home security or a bushfire rating is part of the brief.

Optional Flyscreens

Each of our three online sliding doors can be ordered with or without a flyscreen. If you select one, we supply an aluminium mesh flyscreen to help keep insects outside while allowing air through the opening.

The screen is optional and is not included automatically. It controls insects but is not a certified security screen. Choose “With Fly Screen” on the product page if you want one supplied with the door.

Sliding Security Door Options

Jason sliding security doors are available only by special order when you purchase a Jason aluminium door. They are an add-on option and cannot be ordered online as a standalone product. Visit our Guildford showroom to discuss the security screen options available for your selected door.

Good sliding door security depends on the complete setup. The door, glazing, lock, frame condition, installation and any tested security screen all play a part. An insect screen should never be presented as a substitute for a security screen. Ross’s supplies the products but does not offer custom security screen installation.

Handles and Locking Hardware

Our online selectors do not currently offer a separate handle or lock choice. The doors are supplied with their standard hardware. If you need a particular Jason Windows sliding door handle, finish or keyed-alike arrangement, contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability.

Bushfire Requirements

Jason advises that suitable sliding-door configurations can achieve ratings up to BAL-29. The rating does not apply automatically to every door. It depends on the complete tested configuration, including the glazing, seals, screen and installation.

If your project has a BAL rating, obtain the assessment before ordering. Bring it with you to Ross’s so we can check the specified door and screen combination. Your installer or building professional should also confirm that the complete installation meets the project requirements.

Choose Frame Colours and Other Options

Frame colour affects how the door looks from both inside and outside. It should coordinate with nearby window frames, wall colours and exterior finishes. Darker frames create a stronger outline around the glass, while lighter colours blend with pale walls and trims. Some finishes also show dust, fingerprints and water marks more readily.

Confirm Your Other Options

Before ordering, also confirm:

• whether the door opens from the left or right
• your preferred glass option
• whether you want an aluminium flyscreen
• any specific hardware or handle-finish requirements
• whether adjoining windows or a linked configuration will be used

Couplers can connect a sliding door to adjoining windows or create straight, bay and corner arrangements. Ask us to confirm whether the required couplers, hardware or linked configuration is available. Larger commercial systems and custom requirements may need a special order.

For residential aluminium sliding doors in Perth, start by choosing the configuration. Then work through the size, colour, opening direction and flyscreen selectors. Some combinations are held in stock. Allow 10–15 business days if your selected size or colour needs to be manufactured.

If you need a custom size, colour, glazing option or commercial specification, we can arrange a special order and provide a quote based on your requirements.

Jason security screens are available only by special order with another Jason aluminium door. They cannot be ordered online as a standalone product.

Confirm the complete specification before ordering and arrange installation independently. Door prices do not include installation.

Installation, Maintenance and Warranty

Ross’s supplies these doors but does not install them or arrange an installer. You will need to choose and pay a suitable independent installer.

Before work begins, your installer should check the opening dimensions, structural support, waterproofing, flashing, drainage and local project requirements. Incorrect fitting can affect operation, drainage, weather performance and warranty coverage.

I do not recommend treating a large external sliding door as a simple DIY job. Give your installer Jason’s instructions and keep the product and installation records. The installer still needs to assess the opening and site conditions.

Simple Maintenance That Protects Operation

A little regular attention helps prevent many common sliding-door problems:

• Clear sand, grit, pet hair and building debris from the sill and track.
• Keep the weep holes open so rainwater and cleaning water can drain outside.
• Check that the rollers, locks and catches operate smoothly.
• Clean the glass and powder-coated aluminium with suitable non-abrasive products.
• Never force a panel that has become difficult to move. Check the track and arrange an inspection if the cause is unclear.

Blocked weep holes are easy to overlook. Water can fill the track and overflow indoors, making it appear that the door or frame is leaking. Jason notes that pet hair, dust, leaves and other debris are common causes. The same build-up can interfere with rollers and make a door feel much heavier than it should.

Warranty Boundaries

Jason backs its sliding doors with a 10-year structural warranty, while moving parts are covered for two years. Coverage is subject to the full warranty terms, including installation, maintenance requirements and exclusions.

Keep your invoice, product details and installer records together, and follow Jason’s maintenance requirements. If the door becomes hard to move or stops draining properly, deal with the cause early. Forcing the panel or attempting repairs without approval may damage the door and affect the warranty.
