This Warranty Schedule applies specifically to Alpine Q Cabinet products purchased in Australia for domestic use. This schedule must be read in conjunction with the Alpine KB General Warranty Terms & Conditions, which govern all claims, exclusions, and statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Alpine KB warrants that Alpine Q Cabinet components are free from defects in materials and workmanship from the original date of purchase for the periods outlined below:

In addition to the general exclusions set out in the General Terms, this warranty does not cover:

  • Excluded Range Items: Countertops, stone surfaces, appliances, or plumbing fixtures integrated into or installed alongside cabinets (these are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties).
  • Weight & Capacity Limits: Failure or damage resulting from exceeding weight limits (e.g., 25 kg maximum limit per drawer runner, or 15 kg per internal shelf).
  • Installation & Building Movement: Cabinet binding or door misalignment caused by twisting the cabinet off-level during installation. Door misalignment, binding, or runner failure resulting from house movement, foundation settling, or structural shifting after installation is excluded.
  • Heat & Steam Exposure: Peeling, blistering, or delamination of door finishes/edges caused by heat or steam from dishwashers, ovens, or kettles where suitable heat deflection strips were not used.
  • Sunlight & UV Fading: Natural aging, changes in gloss levels, or color fading/discoloration caused by direct exposure to sunlight or UV radiation.
  • Protective Film: Damage caused by failing to remove protective factory film within 3 months of installation.
  • Impact & Surface Abuse: Cuts, deep scratches, gouges, or impact damage from knives, heavy utensils, or tools.

Discontinued Styles: Where a specific door style, profile, or colour finish is no longer available, Alpine KB reserves the right to supply replacement components in the closest matching finish from its active product range.

Moisture Protection: Alpine Q cabinet materials are water-resistant, not waterproof. Spills, leaks, or standing water around sinks, dishwashers, and kickboards must be wiped dry immediately.

Cleaning Instructions: Wipe surfaces using a soft microfiber cloth with warm, mild soapy water. Never use solvent-based cleaners, harsh detergents, abrasive pads, steel wool, or cream cleaners as these will strip or damage the surface finish.

Proper care and maintenance are essential to ensure the longevity and appearance of your Alpine Q cabinets. Failure to follow these care guidelines may result in surface damage that is not covered under warranty.

1. Routine Cleaning Routine

For daily cleaning and light maintenance, always follow this simple two-step process:

  • Step 1 (Clean): Wipe down surfaces using a soft microfiber cloth dampened with warm water and a small amount of mild, non-abrasive liquid dishwashing soap.
  • Step 2 (Dry): Immediately wipe the surface dry with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to prevent water marks, streaks, or moisture build-up along board edges.

2. Managing Spills & Moisture

While Alpine Q cabinets are manufactured using moisture-resistant materials, no wood-based panel is completely waterproof.

  • Prompt Action: Always wipe up liquid spills, condensation, or steam immediately, paying close attention to door edges, joints, and kickboards.
  • Heat & Steam Deflection: Always use rangehoods when cooking to direct steam away from overhead cabinets. Ensure kettles, toasters, and coffee machines are not operated directly underneath wall cabinets without proper clearance.

3. Managing Stubborn Marks & Grease

If warm soapy water is insufficient for stubborn fingerprints or greasy residue:

  • Use a specialised, neutral pH surface cleaner designed specifically for painted or laminate cabinetry, applied to a soft microfiber cloth.
  • For heavy grease or sticky residue, dilute a mild dishwashing liquid in warm water, gently work the spot with a microfiber cloth, and wipe completely dry immediately afterwards. 

 4. Prohibited Cleaning Products (Will Void Warranty)

To prevent permanent etching, dulling, discolouration, or stripping of painted and factory door finishes, NEVER use any of the following on Alpine Q cabinets:

Ammonia-Based Cleaners: Glass cleaners containing ammonia, which can strip paint sheens and yellow finishes over time.
Abrasive Cleaners & Tools: Steel wool, scouring pads, abrasive sponges, sandpaper, or cream cleansers.
Solvents & Harsh Chemicals: Acetone, nail polish remover, paint thinners, turpentine, mineral spirits, or alcohol/methylated spirits.
Aggressive Household Spray Cleaners: Bleach, oven cleaners, drain cleaners, or heavy-duty commercial degreasers.
Waxes & Furniture Creams: Furniture polish or wax-based polishes, as these build up a greasy residue that attracts grime and permanently alters the surface gloss level.

Quick-Release Door Hinges

Alpine Q cabinets feature quick-release hinges for easy door removal and installation. This eliminates the need for tools, simplifying both installation and future maintenance.

Removing a cabinet door

  1. Open the cabinet door fully and support its weight.
  2. Locate the release lever or button on each hinge.
  3. Operate each release mechanism while continuing to support the door.
  4. Gently pull the door away from the cabinet mounting plates.

Reinstalling the door

  1. Align the hinge parts on the door with the corresponding parts on the cabinet.
  2. Push the door towards the cabinet until you hear a “click.” This indicates the hinge has snapped together securely.
  3. Ensure the door is firmly attached by gently trying to pull it away.
  4. Close and open the door to verify proper alignment and function.
Troubleshooting

Door won’t release: Ensure the release mechanism is fully engaged. Try applying firm, even pressure.
Door won’t snap on: Check for obstructions. Ensure the hinge parts are aligned correctly.

Drawer Removal & Adjustment

First-generation drawers
  1. Fully extend the drawer: Pull the drawer out to its maximum extension.
  2. Locate the release clips: On each side of the drawer, near the front, you will find release clips.
  3. Activate the release clips: Push them towards the middle of the drawer.
  4. Pull the drawer out: Gently lift the drawer front slightly upwards and pull it straight out from the runners. The drawer should slide off smoothly.

Drawer installation

  1. Fully extend the runners: Pull the drawer runners out from the cabinet to their maximum extension.
  2. Align the drawer with the runners: Position the drawer so that the drawer slides align with the runners inside the cabinet.
  3. Slide the drawer onto the runners: Carefully slide the drawer onto the runners, ensuring that they engage properly.
  4. Push the drawer levers or clips: Push the locking clips fully inward until you hear or feel a click, indicating that the drawer is securely locked onto the runners.
  5. Test the drawer operation: Open and close the drawer several times to confirm smooth operation and proper soft-close functionality.

Reversible Door Functionality

Alpine Q cabinets, where needed, are engineered with reversible door options. This means you can choose whether your cabinet doors open from the left or right, allowing you to adapt them to your room’s layout and personal preferences.

The top and bottom panels of these cabinets are identical. This eliminates any “right-side-up” orientation, giving you maximum freedom when positioning your cabinets.

Simply decide on your desired door swing and install the cabinet accordingly.

Choose your swing: Select a left- or right-hand door opening to suit your space.

Adjustable Feet Installation

Alpine Q cabinets come with adjustable feet to ensure level installation on any surface. Follow these steps to attach them:

  1. Prepare the cabinet: Lay the cabinet carefully on its back. This provides easy access to the underside.
  2. Locate the pilot holes: On the bottom of the cabinet, you will find four pre-drilled pilot holes for each foot. These holes indicate the precise position for the foot’s base plate.
  3. Attach the base plates: Using the supplied screws, securely fasten the base plate of each foot to the bottom of the cabinet at each corner. Ensure the screws are tightened firmly.
  4. Insert the feet: Once the base plates are attached, push the adjustable feet into the base plates until they lock into place.
  5. Carefully stand the cabinet upright and place it into position.

Adjusting Cabinet Height

After installing the adjustable feet, you can fine-tune the height of your Alpine Q cabinets to ensure a perfectly level installation.

Locate the adjustment mechanism

The bottom section of each foot is designed for height adjustment.

Rotate for height adjustment

  • Clockwise rotation: Turning the bottom of the foot clockwise will raise the cabinet.
  • Counterclockwise rotation: Turning the bottom of the foot counterclockwise will lower the cabinet.
  • Adjustment range: The adjustable feet provide a height range of 145 mm to 175 mm.
  • Kickrail consideration: The Alpine Q kickrail is manufactured to 150 mm. Adjust the feet so that the cabinet base aligns correctly with the kickrail for a seamless finish.

Use a spirit level to ensure the cabinet is level on all sides. Adjust the feet as needed until the cabinet is level.

Quick-Release Door Hinges

Alpine Q cabinets use a simple and effective adjustable clip system for kickrail installation. Follow these steps to achieve a seamless finish:

  • Prepare the kickrail: Lay the kickrail face down in front of your installed cabinets.
  • Mark the foot positions: Carefully mark the exact position of each cabinet foot on the back of the kickrail using a pencil. This ensures precise clip placement.
  • Attach the adjustable clips: At each marked foot position, securely screw an adjustable clip to the back of the kickrail. Use the provided screws and ensure the clips are firmly attached.
  • Clip the kickrail in place: With the clips attached to the kickrail, clip the kickrail onto the corresponding cabinet feet.

The clips are designed to lock the kickrail securely in place.

Hinge Adjustment

Alpine Q cabinets are equipped with adjustable hinges to ensure your doors align correctly. Refer to the accompanying hinge image when identifying the adjustment screws.

Side-to-side adjustment
The screw closest to the door edge adjusts the door’s position left or right.

Up-and-down adjustment
The middle screw adjusts the door’s position up or down.

In-and-out adjustment
The screw furthest from the door edge adjusts the depth, bringing the door closer to or further from the cabinet frame.

Adjusting your cabinet doors

  1. Open and close the cabinet door to determine which direction it needs to be adjusted.
  2. Side to side: If the door is too far to the left or right, adjust the horizontal screw.
  3. Up and down: If the door is too high or too low, adjust the vertical screw.
  4. In and out: If the door is too close to or too far from the cabinet frame, adjust the depth screw.
  5. Make small adjustments: Use a Phillips-head screwdriver and turn the appropriate screw a quarter- or half-turn at a time to avoid over-adjusting.
  6. Test the door: After each adjustment, close and open the door to check the alignment.
  7. Repeat as necessary: Continue adjusting the screws until the door is correctly aligned.

Adjust all hinges: Doors have multiple hinges. Adjust each hinge as needed to achieve uniform alignment.

Handle Installation

Adding handles to your Alpine Q cabinet doors is a simple process using the included drilling jig. Follow these steps for a professional and consistent finish.

  • Handle fixing screws of the appropriate length for your doors
  • Plastic drilling jig with pre-drilled holes at 128 mm centres
  • 5 mm drill bit

Installation steps

Identify the door type: Determine whether you are working on a base cabinet door or a wall cabinet door.

Base cabinet doors
Slide the plastic drilling jig over the top edge of the door. Ensure it sits flush against the door surface.

Wall cabinet doors
Slide the plastic drilling jig over the bottom edge of the door. Ensure it sits flush against the door surface.

Locate the drill points: The jig has pre-drilled holes spaced at 128 mm, the precise distance required for Alpine Q handles. These holes guide the drilling.

Drill pilot holes: Using the supplied 5 mm drill bit and the jig’s holes as a guide, carefully begin a small pilot hole in the front surface of the door. Flip or open the door and repeat from the back. This helps prevent chipping and produces a cleaner hole.

Drill the through holes: Align the 5 mm drill bit with one of the pilot holes. Keep the drill level and straight, then carefully drill through the door. Repeat for the second hole.

Attach the handle: Position the handle over the drilled holes. Insert the supplied fixing screws through the door and into the handle.

Tighten the screws: Tighten firmly using a screwdriver. Impact drivers and drills are too strong for this application. Do not overtighten, as this may damage the door.

Repeat for the remaining doors: Follow the same steps for all other cabinet doors requiring handles.

Tips for success

  • Take your time: Drill carefully and steadily.
  • Keep the drill level: Maintaining a level drill is crucial for accurate hole alignment.
  • Pilot holes are important: Do not skip the pilot-hole step if you want the cleanest result.
  • Tighten gently: Avoid overtightening the handle screws.

Following these instructions will allow you to install the handles accurately and add the finishing touch to your Alpine Q cabinet doors.
