There are four main types of ovens;

  • Conventional Electric Ovens
  • Conventional Gas Ovens.
  • Convection Ovens
  • Microwave Ovens

A conventional electric oven is the most widely used oven in Australia. It uses electricity to heat coils of wire, which are responsible for heating up the air inside the oven cavity.

A conventional gas oven uses natural gas as its primary source of energy and heats the air inside the oven cavity by passing the flame from burners over metal heating elements.

A convection oven also heats the air inside the oven cavity with a fan that forces hot air to circulate, resulting in a more uniform temperature.

Finally, a microwave oven uses microwave radiation, generated by a magnetron and transmitted through an antenna to heat the air inside the oven cavity.

You’ll find a great range of each of these ovens in our freestanding oven, oven, and microwave oven ranges.
