In Western Australia, new construction work is required to comply with the performance requirements of the Building Code of Australia. The Building Code contains specific bushfire construction requirements for buildings in designated bushfire-prone areas that aim to reduce the risk of ignition from embers to minimise risk to lives and property. The primary concern of Australian Standard AS3959:2009 is to improve buildings in bushfire-prone areas to withstand attack from a bushfire and provide a level of protection to the building occupants, as well as the building itself. If you are not sure of the requirements for your area, you can check with your local council or fire authority.
As a standard, Ross’s Discount Home Centre provides all Windows and Doors with a minimum standard BAL Benchmark rating of 19.

No hassles, very professional, very competitive.

From the time I ordered my custom window till the time it was delivered everything went well. They emailed that my order was received and paid for, emailed me - thanking me for the order - and that the order was in their system and a scheduled delivery date. They then emailed when the window was ready for delivery (the previous day). On the morning of the delivery, I was sent a tracking link - via text message - that showed how far the delivery was and where I was in the queue! Window was delivered as promised on time, undamaged by a very polite delivery guy. I wish all my purchase experiences for building products was this easy and carefree!!

Excellent Service with Realistic Pricing

I ordered some sliding windows for a D.I.Y project I'm completing after being gobsmacked at Ross' pricing following 'off the planet' ripoff quotes from some of the manufacturers. Service and follow up by Callum Zscherpel was outstanding, helping me understand how to fit them into steel frame construction. Delivery was as forecast and windows were light to move. Quality was impressive and they now look and operate great installed. Their opposition are con artists with traps for the unwary. Don't be fooled. Get your gear here!
