The answer as to whether a wall hung or pedestal vanity is better depends on your circumstances, the application, and personal style preference.

If your renovating, you must consider the plumbing. If the existing plumbing for the vanity comes up through the floor, then a pedestal vanity may be better suited. However, if your existing plumbing comes out of the wall, then a wall hung vanity would be a better choice.

Hung vanities are generally much larger than pedestal vanities and provide essential storage. They are therefore commonly found in bathrooms and ensuites.  On the other hand, pedestal vanities are small and offer no storage, making them ideal for small spaces such as powder rooms.

In terms of style, wall hung vanities are by far the more popular choice but ultimately, it comes down to your existing plumbing and the size room it will be installed in.
