What colour cabinets never go out of style?

White cabinets are the only colour cabinets to never go out of style. Colour trends come and go, but white cabinets are timeless. They will always be relevant and never go out of style. For this reason, we only stock white cabinets in our DIY Kitchen & Laundries range.

If you are looking to add colour to your kitchen or laundry, do it through your benchtop and splashback.

Do wall cabinets have to line up with base cabinets?

No. Not at all. Functionality and practically should trump your decision-making process when selecting both wall and base cabinets.

Consider where you want to put your bowels, plates, pots and pans, etc., and choose your cabinetry based on size requirements, irrespectively to the widths of the wall cabinet.

You do, however, want to make sure the overall width of the wall and base cabinets line up with each other.

For example, if you have four double 80cm wall cabinets, then you will want a base cabinet configuration that equals 320cm total length. This could be two double 80cm base cabinets and four 40cm base cabinets.

Do laundry room cabinets need to match kitchen cabinets?

No. Not necessarily. If the kitchen and laundry are separate and not in sight of one another, you have a little more freedom in terms of design. However, if they do not match, they should at least be in theme with one another. A consistent design style should flow through your home.

For example, your kitchen may have white cabinetry with timber-look accents. It would be perfectly OK to reverse this and have the same timber-look in the kitchen for the laundry cabinets, with white accents.

How much are laundry room cabinets?

Laundry room cabinets vary in price depending on size and configuration.

Our range starts at $450.00 for a Base Unit Double Door 60cm and goes up to $1,150.00 for a Single Door Pull Out Pantry/Linen Cupboard 60cm.

Besides laundry room cabinets, you can also opt for a laundry unit and sink combo. These are a cost-effective all-in-one option, which ranges in price from $280 for a Project 45PP Laundry Unit, to $1,280.00 for a Bloom Laundry Cabinet & Sink.

Do I need to tile under the laundry cabinets?

No, this is not necessary. However, it is better to do so.  If you have spills, the tiles will prevent water from soaking into the substrate. Moreover, if you decide to upgrade your cabinetry in the future, you won’t be restructured in size or choice to match the existing cabinetry.
